Here's our guide to using the Fiamma F45S wind-out sunshade awning, which is now fitted to CamperKing conversions as an optional upgrade
The Fiamma F45S sunshade awning is an easy-to-use cassette awning that is attached to the side of your Volkswagen Transporter conversion on the passenger side, situated above the sliding door.
It provides a shaded, covered area outside the main door of your conversion, suitable for chairs, tables, mats and creating an outdoor cooking area, especially in warmer weather.
The Fiamma F45S is the sunshade CamperKing fits to its campervan conversions, and has been chosen for its build quality and ease of use.It comes in black, silver or white.

To operate the F45S, first locate the winding arm inside your conversion. This is usually the same colour as the awning cassette and will be attached to the inner wall of your campervan using a small hook or cradle.
Angle the folding lengths of the winding arm at right angles so your winding arm is more of a straight 'Z' shape. Then locate the hook end of the arm in the loop at the far right of the cassette. Begin to wind out the awning by turning the part nearest your body in an anti-clockwise motion.
Wind the cassette out to about three feet or so, then remove the legs from the rear part of the awning cover and fold them down, loosening the wingnut-style fastener to extend the lower part of the leg and retightening it when it supports the sunshade's weight. Continue to wind out the awning until it extends the desired length from your campervan. Align the legs and secure them with the pegs provided.
TOP TIP: We recommend angling the sunshade down at one end slightly to allow rainwater to run off naturally, otherwise it has a tendency to collect in the middle of the awning and weigh down the fabric.
To retract the awning, reverse the process. Unpeg the support legs, and begin by using the winding arm to return the awning to its cassette, by winding in a clockwise direction.
When the awning is about three feet or so from the cassette, return the legs to the rear of the awning cover, then continue to wind the awning back in. Take note of the small red tab near the winding loop, which will disappear from sight when the awning is fully and correctly retracted. Then just stow the winding arm in its holder.
WORTH NOTING: Ensure when you are operating the cassette awning that your sliding door is closed. Also, take care when opening the cab passenger door as it can snag against the awning arms unless these are elevated high enough.
